Indulgent request

a meme of sorts, I guess.

See, last year when all kinds of people were sad and down, particularly around election time, I went in search of photographs which embodied beauty and hope in some aspect or another, and posted only those for a while.

What I'd like to ask all of you to do is the following:

1. Think about the holidays, winter, etc., and what brings you the most joy in these times.

2. Find a picture which represents that feeling/ thought/ idea, and post it, either here in my comments or in your own journal. Or, do the latter, and send me a link so I know where to find it.

3. Rinse, and repeat in your own journal.

i hate the cold, but there is a strange thing about the death that winter brings, and the rebirth that spring bring. i love the rebirth, so i indure the death. have always disliked christmas,till i had my daughter,i try to bring the magic of christmas to her, i love christmas morning when she goes down stairs, and sees all the presents, and the look in her eyes when she gets what she really wanted.
im working on the picture thing. i will post that later!

actually...I found a box of xmas cards taht provide an image of how I feel about the holidays!
I've decorated and have ample holiday festivities planned with my peoples :D ...it is, to me, about when I will make cookies w/ said peoplles :D and my nieces...I walked through the mall yesterday and yeah the lights are pretty and the trees and decorated streets are wonderous to look at and even the snow has its moments of being beautiful if it were not so dang cold and slippery...

my point is...the glorification of the holidays has been lost on me. the only thing i look forward to is spending time w/ my family and friends WELL AND EATING COOKIES OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha!!!

I will scan the pic tonight and post it...it is gorgeous! its a little girl in front of a fireplace!!!
