a mono spot usually takes 2-3 days, about the same as a strep culture...

yeah, that sounds about right from my memory of having it years ago. mono sucks!

Gods, I hope it's not mono. By rights, that should entail 4-6 weeks of vocal rest (plus 3-4 additional weeks of building vocal strength back up), which I know you don't have time for. If it is mono... Drink tons of fluids, including no less than 10 8-ounce glasses of water a day, and force yourself to get a bare minimum of 8 hours sleep each night no matter what. If you feel tired, stop. Pushing yourself only makes it worse. And avoid as much stress as possible.
