yesterday was productive. I finished the two stories for the Yellow Book, a day late (with accordance to Eastern Dawndom Time, of course~;) and sent them off the [livejournal.com profile] draganfly to hold onto until Saturday.

Oh yeah, just a reminder...anyone who wishes to contribute to the Decadent Nouveau Yellow Book, whether in words, art or just opinions, please be at Jawndomay at 4PM tomorrow afternoon. Bring your own refreshments, as we are po' folkses, and remember this is a working meeting, meaning we'll be busy putting the next zine together and being constructive/ productive yet always decadent!~;P People will be showing up throughout the evening, so don't fret if you can't be here exactly at 4. If you have no idea where the funk my house is, e-mail me at thedarksiren@yahoo.com and I will send you the info you need. I give out bad-ass directions too!~8D

So yeah, I woke up late again today, and once again Kira will kill me.
It happens.
*shrugs*

I would say I am apathetic, but I'm not. I'm just drained, a combination of heat and the crimson tide, I'm sure.

All you boys out there can uncover your eyes now.
~;)

I visited with Teri last night for the first time in a long time. She has a most adorable little dog named Franky who does nothing but roll onto his back and wait to be scratched. If you don't do it, he gets up and moves to someone who will. He's incredibly spoiled, and supremely adorable. She made us tacos, and shared pics and silly stories about her trip to Spain, and then we went to World Market and I got some Jawndomay incense (YAY!) as well as some Myntz! brand mints. OMFG they're WONDERFUL too! They are green tea and ginseng with mint...YUM! Fantabulous, I say.

I couldn't sleep last night when I got home. I finished revising my last story and held the original in my hands for quite some time, unable to destroy it. I kept reading through LJ, trying to find splinters of hope, and found a most lovely trinket via [livejournal.com profile] batty_'s little cousin. I thanked [livejournal.com profile] batty_ for sharing and helping me let the tears roll freely, and called [livejournal.com profile] krylon64, just to hear his always-chipper voice. He was busy though, and couldn't talk. I went outside with the original, a lighter and the telephone, grabbed the small Folgers can we typically let people use as an ashtray, and tore the original to shreds, lighting it on fire and watching the flames dance away in the night.

I wound up calling [livejournal.com profile] bindrune and explained what was happening. I watched a spider crawl from the ground to the roof on a super-thin strand of web, seeming to dance in the wind as well. I heard someone belch from a window, saluted them, laughed on the phone with [livejournal.com profile] bindrune, and watched the flames turn to dark blue before smoldering completely.

I came inside and began watching Harry Potter, and fairly quickly was snoozing away.

Then the phone rang.

[livejournal.com profile] krylon64 told me about his adventures in the Mondo Wal-Mart, how he and Joerael suddenly became domestic and laughed at one another for it. He has blue and green things for his new kitchen, orange things for his bathroom (except the shower curtain, which is polka-dotted and rainbow-esque), and how he is making up weird wall plans since he is not allowed to mount things to the walls. His brain was super-inventive and fun-filled, and he had me laughing like a fool before he told me good night. He also told me I have to find Juniper-berry Olive Oil and cook chicken in it. I told him I'd look into it.

I slept like a log, don't recall the alarm going off, and have since balanced my checkbook and checked e-mail, eaten a power bar and drank a bunch of water. I don't really want to get dressed, but [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy will be home soon.

Oh well.

TONIGHT is the art walk, and we will be at Edison's around 6:30ish. I am making us dinner first, so it may be a li'l later. I plan on crawling the pubs, having a damn good time and forgetting all the ugly that is in the world tonight, so please do me a favor and DON'T talk politics or world events with me. I am not ignorant of them, I just want a day not invaded by them.

Instead, I dare you to come up and hug me, tell me about how beautiful your day was, what things made you laugh like a kid again, and made you smile like a crocadile.~8) I may even buy ya a drink if you succeed in these skills.~;)

Later this evening, I shall be hitting the Nautica stage by the Power House in the Flats to see State of Being play. 11ish shall be the time...hope to see some familiar faces there too.

OK, I am done with this rambling madness. Time to be a productive human being.

aww...don't be like that. I am sure your shtuff is just lovely.

I know we are done with written submissions for the next issue, however, if you are at all interested in joining the Decadent Nouveau group, you can Subscribe at:
decadentnouveau-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

The people in charge of the writing department are Mrs. Williams (revampsfolly@yahoo.com) and Audrea Brown (thedraganfly@yahoo.com - AKA [livejournal.com profile] draganfly), and are always taking submissions, as we put out Yellow Books bi-annually. My suggestion would be for you to find pieces that you are particularly fond of, especially if they are "decadent" in nature (very broad use of that word, btw) and send an e-mail to one of the ladies above, explaining you heard about the Decadent Nouveau & YB through me (Dawn), and would like to submit some works for consideration. If you send the pieces via a MS Word attachment, they'll ♥ you bunches for it!~;)

Hope to see you in the crew of Decadents!
