Dec. 28th, 2003 03:48 amI finally have my car back, and the saddest part about all of this is simply that it was a loose wire. I mean, that's good and not expensive, but a bit grumbly also, as I have been without a car for well over a week (my own, anyway. Thanks again,
wraptboy!)
Had a performance for the Cleveland Public Theater people tonight, only not at the theater itself but rather, at a church a few doors down. The guy throwing the party, "Jean," pronounced as "John," only with the J drug out, was too fabulous for words, as were many of his guests. Such amazingly beautiful faces and bodies everywhere, jeebus. Special people in particular...two boys with large white feather boas, Jean himself (and his monster of a rhinestone necklace hiding barely behind his long velvet coat), the Russian Orthodox couple (you'd have to have seen it to believe it), the drag queen that looked like she was pregnant giving the younger girls in choir tips on how to kick to music the way that the Rockettes do, the gorgeous woman with short, black hair, giant green eyes and the rad-ass dress with belt buckles all the way down, and the pot-bellied pig in a fleece sweater. I shit you not.
We were allowed and encouraged to stay as late as we liked, but I didn't have anyone to wander with, and wasn't quite up for the being social and meeting new people deal. I hung out with Rich for a while, but he was flirting with some guy he hadn't seen since high school. Oh! And just before we were going to sing our last song, Kevin Sweet walked up and we talked for all of ten seconds before he had to go. Funny, I was just talking about him, wondering how he is. I miss that boy very much.
Got home, clawed my way out of the formal gown only to find the words explaining it was a formal night at the Chamber. I am sad I missed it, honestly. I was all dressed for the event anyway! LOL
I wasted time with the box, tried calling boy, but boy not home. Decided instead to head to Corky's for a whopping twenty minutes, said my hellos to Big John and his daughter, looked for another boy whom I have unintentionally not kept in contact with. Eventually I wound up in my front drive, falling asleep in the car and seriously considering staying put for the rest of the night. Weird, I know, but it helps with the insomnia.
Speaking of sleeping, I am starting to drift...toodles.
