Well, last weekend proved that the competition at the Great American bar and Grill will be tough, not because of the caliber of singing, but rather because the judges are nimrods.

Alexis so should have gotten in.
Unbelievable and plain bullshite.

Anyway...

so, this Friday I go up against 20 other women, and 21 men compete against one another. It is going to be a LONNNG night, a packed night. I need people to be there though, just because the audience participation is some portion of the judging, and there are going to be families and thing there. So if you think you can handle being in a super-crowded bar out in the middle of nowhere for several hours this Friday, please come out...I need the support, both on a mental/ emotional plain as well as on the competitive plain.

Just for the record, as much as I need and want the money for myself, I am not keeping it. I am donating it to the Tri-C music club. They need the money, not to mention that if it weren't for their contributions to my Rome trip, which were well over half the cost, I would not have made it.

Someday I will be able to pay everyone back for their kindness, but for now, this is all I can do. They need the money for costumes, equipment and traveling expenses over the next nine months, so it's the least I can do.

So yeah, there it is.
Please come out Friday to support me, drink cheap drinks (yeah, their drinks are pretty well priced), and hear some pretty good singing overall. There are a few bad singers, as there always are, but hey...it's (s)karaoke, right?

If I make it past this stage, I will go to the finals with seven other women and compete next Friday for $1000. This Friday, I sing one song (no clue what yet! EEP!) Next Friday, two.
I have some ideas on what to sing, but if anyone has any recommendations, pleeeease lemme know! I am all about ideas.

As for the rest of the week, I am going to Corky's on Wednesday again, to visit with friends and get some practice. Any and all who want to join me, meet me there after ten.

It's wayyyyeee east. You take I-90 East, staying on it past where it merges from RT. 2. Get off at Rt. 91 and (turn right?) going south from the exit. You'll go through one light and it will be on the left.
