I tried.
Gawd I tried to get up the gumption to go to the show at the Phantasy Friday night, but there was this rot just growing, lingering, crawling through my viscera, and all the better parts of me knew that if I went there, I would bring nothing good with me.

So, [livejournal.com profile] bindrune, [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy and I all went to see Minority Report. Very cool flick. I have to say that Tom Cruise gets a lot of crap about his acting abilities, but he has really floored me the past few films I've seen him in.

At any rate, we had a thought to go to Whiskey Business after, but then [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy started feeling a bit chartreuse, so we dropped back by Jawndomay. By that time, it was 1:40AM, and well, it seemed silly to travel all the way back out to Brookpark Rd. So, [livejournal.com profile] bindrune parked her vehicle, and we walked to Lava Lounge to see what lurked behind flapping doors & up the stairs.

Work = emotional roller-coaster hell.

I will not dwell there though. Nope nope nope.

Instead I will say that I had a most pleasant evening, spent with [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws. We had been talking on IM for a li'l while, and she seemed so bummed...but she didn't want to go somewhere super-crowded. She then went on about making cheesecake, but she had no cream cheese.

I then decided to offer to meet her at the Phoenix coffee house fo cheescake and chai.

Splendid!

We never did get the cheesecake, but the time was great! I love it when I get the chance to hang out on a more personal & real level with people whom I've come to admire in a social setting before.

Of course, Pearl Rd. was no quieter than a club Saturday, but she still managed to be quite the company for the evening despite the ruckus.

I like listening to her, really. She speaks so clearly, saying exactly what is going on in her mind, in her world. The words are consistent with her body, and she is just so animated and neat to know.

We spent a few hours talking, my friend Dave dropping by to share some pictures with me, as he does many times I am there. He's got to be in his eighties, and seems terribly lonesome. I always feel very privileged to get the opportunity to see where his life has led him.

70 years or more...I cannot even fathom...

But, but so [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws and I ranted back and forth, listening in the same manner. And what a treat, to sit and talk with someone who can listen as well as she speaks!

It was just a neat time, and probably one of the best Saturdays I have had in forever.

Thanks for meeting up with me, [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws. No fears...you returned the favor plenty!

Sitting here on IM with my father, talking AC and repairing such things in large vans like his...had been outside a bit with Chloebearmonster, and noticed it had started to sprinkle.

YAY! Rain rain rain!!!

But, it wouldn't pour like I wanted it to, and every cheesy song associated to the rain began accosting me in my head.

So, we went back inside, and here I am on the 'puter.

Then ...

SMASH!!!

YAY!
Thunderstorms!!!
*bounce!*

Ok, time to get ready for work, now that the air is tolerable.
