Work = emotional roller-coaster hell.
I will not dwell there though. Nope nope nope.
Instead I will say that I had a most pleasant evening, spent with
sharpshinyclaws. We had been talking on IM for a li'l while, and she seemed so bummed...but she didn't want to go somewhere super-crowded. She then went on about making cheesecake, but she had no cream cheese.
I then decided to offer to meet her at the Phoenix coffee house fo cheescake and chai.
Splendid!
We never did get the cheesecake, but the time was great! I love it when I get the chance to hang out on a more personal & real level with people whom I've come to admire in a social setting before.
Of course, Pearl Rd. was no quieter than a club Saturday, but she still managed to be quite the company for the evening despite the ruckus.
I like listening to her, really. She speaks so clearly, saying exactly what is going on in her mind, in her world. The words are consistent with her body, and she is just so animated and neat to know.
We spent a few hours talking, my friend Dave dropping by to share some pictures with me, as he does many times I am there. He's got to be in his eighties, and seems terribly lonesome. I always feel very privileged to get the opportunity to see where his life has led him.
70 years or more...I cannot even fathom...
But, but so
sharpshinyclaws and I ranted back and forth, listening in the same manner. And what a treat, to sit and talk with someone who can listen as well as she speaks!
It was just a neat time, and probably one of the best Saturdays I have had in forever.
Thanks for meeting up with me,
sharpshinyclaws. No fears...you returned the favor plenty!

Date: 2002-07-22 10:27 am (UTC)Needless to say, it's been nice meeting all the girly-girls here. I need that feminine energy every so often to keep myself sane! LOL It's just so hard to remember one is a goddess when she is surrounded by armored men all the damn time! And I know you know what I mean.~;)
Oh and thank you for the compliments! You so rawk!
