Shortly after I broke free from this e-veel glowy-box Friday night, [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws and [livejournal.com profile] love_power dropped by and gave me exactly what I needed - fun, silly conversations, stories shared, and me being able to share the new Peter Gabriel album with them.

After a while, [livejournal.com profile] bladernr returned my call and helpe lighten my spirits even more. All three of us talked with him - strangeness at 3AM, phone calls. Not the call itself, but the fact that someone would call the house so late. But it was nice to hear from him - I miss hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] bladernr - truly one of the coolest people I have the pleasure of knowing.

After we got off the phone, people got sleepy and a goat seduced [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws into taking him home with her. It was very cute, watching the two of them all shnuggly and shtuff!

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] love_power and [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws, both for your time and company - it was all I needed the other night.

Saturday - woke to urgency...I should be somewhere. Where?

It was only 11:30. I thought I read 1:30.

Jumped on here for a moment, then got myself together to go help [livejournal.com profile] evilshell move some things over to her aunt's house. Of course, when i got to her apartment I couldn't remember for the LIFE of me what her apartment number was. This sucked too, considering I couldn't even get inside the building, other than the main entrance doors, without that information. I knew where the location was, but not the actual number.

I pushed 303 and got some message that didn't sound like her at all.
Hmmm...

Eventually a little old lady came up the basement stairs and asked me if I needed help. I told her I knew where I was going, just not the apartment number. Just then a guy came out of the main doors - whoosh! I was in!

Up three flights of stairs and i find I was just a hair off in the numbers. In fact, I am pretty sure I rang [livejournal.com profile] android23's place next door. Inside, Shell seemed pleasantly surprised to see me, as did [livejournal.com profile] theswede. Hugs were exchanged, and I was introduced to the infamous Bob from Shell's radio show. I was admittedly surprised by his appearance - I don't know why but I thought he'd be a bit more stalky with less hair. No good reason, just one of those instances where you hear about someone for a while and their image develops itself in your head all on its own. He was really nice though. I can understand why he and Shelly are friends.

After a bit, [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy, [livejournal.com profile] sharpshinyclaws, [livejournal.com profile] love_power and [livejournal.com profile] fractalmind's husband showed up and it was moving time.

A few hours later, it was complete, and noses were red and cold. [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy and I had to be at a special party by 6-ish, and as he said, 16 year-olds do not recognize fashionably late.

We stopped back at Jawndomay, ate the rest of the eggplant parmigian and had some decompression talking. It was good - I needed to cry, and [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy is one of the very few people I feel comfortable enough to be around and just lose control like that. He is truly the best of friends to me, and I am so grateful he is in my life if for no other reason than he is so very real and trustworthy.

After regrouping ourselves, we went to the World Market and got Nina her gifts => some incense, a burner, a candle with dragons carved into it, a really cool silver candle holder with lotus blossoms all etched into it, and a lovely candle snuffer. We just thought about what we were into when we were her age really - I hadn't even seen Nina in a year or more, which is why I was surprised she wanted me to come at all. But she told her parents and [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy she wanted her family there, and that I was a part of her family.

That, in and of itself, is just awesome and warmed my heart.

The party, as it turned out, was supposed to be a Lord of the Rings party - if I'd known I think I might have gotten my garb on. But I didn't - no matter - Nina had this gorgeous gown that Fran (her mom) had made for her. She was a princess, and one with smarm and style no less!

After the final guest arrived who, incidentally, got the "booty" prize of a Karen Carpenter's Greatest Hits 8-Track cassette (LOL) we ventured into the game of "What Do you know about Nina?"

There were ten questions, ranging from what her real full name was to what her bra size was (It's 40DDD BTW - and she's only 16!!!) I got 8.5 of the ten right, although I got extra for naming her boyfriend "Possessive" when asked what his name was. She thought that was awesome, and awarded me extra.

My reward for my vast knowledge of the Nina-girrl?

Two Halloween-Christmas ornaments and a way-cute black-cat soap dispenser.~8)

The night found us all lost in this crazy, fucked-up movie called Frailty. It was really messed-up, hurt the noggin a bit. But I like shtuff like that - it was just very disturbing to me.

Then again, they put on this other one called Pooty Tang afterward, and I had to count my brain cells to make sure a few had survived the trauma that movie inflicted on them. What a horrid excuse for a movie! ACK! I guess I just lost my tolerance for blatantly stupid movies, you know like Airplane and Men in Tights. That shtuff just annoys me anymore.

When I'd had all I could handle of the monster-screen TV and its ridiculous show (BTW...[livejournal.com profile] nimort - yours is reeeeally small compared to this one. Brian's got ya beat by a bit ~;P)I wound up in the kitchen with Fran and Dawn (another one) looking at photos of Fran's kids and then Brian's childhood.

I cannot remember the last time someone just sat with me and shared a huge photo album with me. I like doing it with people, but rarely do others do the same. I think it's the whole digital camera movement. It's sad to me, really - real photos, the ones that are tangible, mean so much more in my world.

The night got sillier, all the *adults* drinking and getting kinda rowdy. I miss these people, and cannot even recall the last time I spent such quality time with them. And it was just wonderful, hanging out with Brian, Fran, Bill, Paula, and even Dawn and Jeff, whom I've known for a long time peripherally, but not on a real level. Last night was very real, and outstanding.

Before I knew it, 1AM had hit, and I needed to be at yet another party. Hell, I was supposed to call SMHB, but I didn't bring his number with me, and am terrible at remembering numbers in general.~8/ I felt kinda bad too because it was a fun time, and [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy was driving, so I felt like I was completely imposing on him when I said I should get going to Lorenzo's. He was cool about it though. He is always so cool about most things.

Off we drove into the night, from the east to the west, cold, rain and slick were the backdrop to a wall of seagulls and waves as we drove by the shoreway. More on that later though ~ I have a phone call to catch and a tower to shake.

he has been around for awhile. he is just not posting a lot these days thanks to a huge volunteer project (building an intranet for drue's school) and working his ass off for an ungrateful boss. :(

now that he knows more lj'ers maybe he will post more *nudge, nudge de [livejournal.com profile] bagelhead*
