Aww...yay! ~8D

I've only seen the first of the prequels, and really, I was so annoyed with Jar Jar Binks that I never even bothered to go to the next one. I hear I haven't missed much. However, this last one seems really neat, and I'd like to see it, which means I should probably try to watch the 2nd one.

On a completely unrelated note, I don't know if I'm more tired or more hungry right now.
Just thought I'd share.
YAY!

Oh, I was just talking to [livejournal.com profile] tiktiktok about this last night. I think we are going to see the Sith movie together next weekend. I may watch #2 with you some other time though...he insists that it sucks as bad as, if not worse than, #1.

You wanna go see the last one when you're up here? I was thinking about going to see it, but I can wait...

Like most Geminis, you are a playful little creature.
You tend to be extremely curious, craving knowledge but sometimes having a short attention span.
For the most part, you are charming and loveable.
But at times, you can seem scattered and high-strung.

definitely watch the 2nd one before you see the new one. george lucas said, the telling of all six of these are not about luke skywalker but of darth vader and these last three are all about the creation and/or development of darth vader.

Yeah, but what does one miss, as far as character development besides "youth with slight temper falls in love"? (Well, besides really bad acting.)

The only argument someone has made which might (thaz a BIG might, btw~;) deter me from seeing EIII before EII is that the explaination of the Clone wars is important in the plot of EIII, and can only be found in EII.

Thoughts on this???

I understand that, and didn't expect Luke to be *the thing* in the prequels, honestly.

Actually, from talking to several people about it, most say that, although Episode II does explain some things, such as the reasoning for the Clone war, it is not particularly necessary to see it first to *get* Episode III.

We'll see how it goes...Thanks for your thoughts, John!

to answer both comments, and please don't hate me for this, i am a huge sci-fi fan, that said, i've never seen a sci-fi movie with great acting, and i don't expect to. as long as the effects are cool, some decent fight scenes, things blow up, the story line is vaguely interesting and there is a relatively up-beat ending, meaning the good guys win, at least sort-of, i'm happy.

that said, i still think there are many elements to the story as some mentioned in an above comment, that will make the viewing of E3 much more enjoyable if you see E2 first.

even though i don't usually see new movies more than once, i've made an exception with the star wars movies and star trek movies. i've seen all those even E2 at least three times.

i love sci-fi, for me it's the ultimate escapism, which as shallow as it may be, is the only reason i go to movies. i hate movies or plays that are a little (often depressing) slice of life. i live life, i go to movies, read books and see plays to escape reality and to be entertained.

i also, love fantasy and some horror movies. although the lord of the rings is of a much higher quality and detailed story, (the books not necessarily the movies) it is a trilogy and E1, 2 and 3 is also a trilogy and all three movies should be seen in order to appreciate the developing story. and... you get to see some cool effects, fights and explosions. what else is there? a rhetorical question.

ps: i hate everything tennessee williams ever made and i love stephen king, go figure.

ps: i also love old westerns, spy and dectective/action movies and suspense thrillers, ie; john wayne, clint eastwood, james bond especially sean connery, and alfred hitchcock.

Terminator? The (original) Matrix? Men in Black? The Fifth Element? Minority Report??? I think those are all very well-acted, and have great plot lines/ developments AND great endings. The Terminator was one of my FAVORITES growing up, and I've seen all but the last one, and liked them all.

I am going to watch EII tonight, just because people were too torn either way as to whether or not I would get EIII. No biggie.

Fifth Element was also one that popped into my head, as well as Blade Runner and Strange Days. Some may disagree, but I'd also suggest Alien, 2001 and CLockwork Orange were also done well.

I almost forgot about all those! Thanks!

I haven't seen 2001, at least I don't think I have.
