Does anyone know of a really good pawn shop in Cleveland, or something like it? I need to sell a leather coat and have a silver jewelry set from Denmark (Viking replicas) that I need to sell, and do not have the ability to wait for them to auction on Ebay at this point.

Kinda desperate times, sadly.

Please let me know your thoughts/ ideas. All will be appreciated tremendously.

Thank you.

edit: I may have found an antique dealer who wants the necklace, which would be better than a pawn shop.

I don't care so much about the coat, but the jewelry means a bit to me.

pawn shops will only give you pennies on the dollar...

I know, but I am really in a bad spot as of today, and have no clue how else to get money right now.

What about the parents? other relatives?

could they front you a few bucks to be paid by the ebay sale of said items?

I don't know if you read my last post, but due to some events today, I am really in the hole, and there isn't anything I can do about it. The few items I have for sale on Ebay already, well, any money gained from them will disappear to the fees of the events from today until my bank decides that the withdrawal I am disputing is not my fault, wherein all overdraft fees and bullshit, etc. will be removed. I have no idea how long such a dispute takes to resolve, and am only in town another week.

As for my family, my parents have been helping me out a lot lately, and although they say they don't mind, they don't have the money to be giving out like this either. I would need about $180 to cover the costs of my overdraft and fees right now.

I talked to a friend just a bit ago about the jewelry, which I had forgotten (until she reminded me) is antique. She said to talk to some antique shops, get an appraissal, etc. I called a few, and some are very interested, so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for your thoughts, Moon. Always appreciated.

I have been in the exact same position as you. I really wish that my financial aid had come in on time because I would have some $ to spot you. (What comes around, goes around. Believe me.) Let me know if you're in the same boat next week. I was told that my check will be in the mail on Monday. :o)

My thoughts/ideas: how about holding off on pawning stuff until I can call you after work.

...the most famous being Volk's, that scourge of late-night airwaves.

There's a row of them on Euclid.

I wish I had some cash this week; I'd try to help you out!

even though, pawn shops are... pennies on the dollar, you can get your stuff back at those pennies cost, for a limited time.

what i suggest is, pawn for fast money, but first take pictures, try e-bay and the plain dealer or sun news paper ads and sell that way. then, you'll probably get a much higher price, get you stuff back from the pawn shop and sell it at that higher price.

if you need someone to be a contact and coordinate this while gone, i'd be glad to help
