between the hours of midnight and 6AM, right from off our porch.
The chain was cut, and is still lying on the ground like one of those chalk outlines they make when people die.
Incidentally, I think a piece of Jay was stolen along with that bike. Not suprising...he fucking loved that bike more than any other thing he owns. It was custom-built to suit him, had its own dinks and ju-ju going on...
He left a little while ago to file a police report and give them the serial number.
Description of bike MIA:
It is a Raleigh CS-7, silver and tan. It has a dink on the edge of the right handlebar from hitting a car, as well as a ju-ju bag under the seat.
*sigh*
The thing is, I called the theft just yesterday, although I was certain it would be my car getting invaded again. So certain, in fact, that I brought all my tapes (except a very select few) and my sleeping bag inside for the night yesterday. I told Jay I had a feeling that my car would be broken into before I move in two weeks...
Also though, I joked about someone stealing my bike and putting me out of my misery yesterday, simply because I was pissy and couldn't find the key to unlock it.
I told Jay I was sorry, as I have always felt bad when I knew something, but didn't have the right means to explain it. I really thought, and would have preferred truthfully, that my car had been robbed. Not that there is a lot to rob from it, but yeah.
We all figured it was someone close by, someone who's been scoping for at least a few days, if not longer. I mean, who carries around tools/ cutters like that! Besides, CBM has been barking right around 3AM every night. I figured it was just the house settling down.
Yeah...sleep is necessary. I'm writing crazy shite, falling asleep at the screen...

Date: 2004-08-20 07:09 am (UTC)Tell Jay he has my condolences. I hope that prick flies off the bike and lands in a car's windshield (while the bike gently lands in your front yard)
