Just woke up from the big ugly burnt-orange squishy couch.
Just like that...*poof!*
Awake...

Strange dreams, woke to the song "From These Eyes" battering my brain. Seriously...it might have been playing, it was so loud initially. Very strange, crazy feeling.

Went to [livejournal.com profile] nomadoh's last night for a nice BBQ and met some fun people. The two whom I most recall -- and I do remember everything, despite the level of inibriation, thank you~;P -- are Hardy the cool Greek guy & Jim the Italian. Hardy was just a super-cool guy, 50-something with dark glasses and a white beret. He was funny & intelligent, and apparently plays the drums, but I never got to hear him do so.

As for Jim, well, he deemed [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy a 1/4 Italian, practicing certain masculine rituals with him. Jim also decided that he was my soul-mate, pierced his nose with a beer bottle cap and called me "SFP," which is hauntingly close to "SFD," a nickname Gabe gave me a while back. Two totally separate meanings, but nevertheless...

[livejournal.com profile] nomadoh made this concoction that might have been Hawaian Punch in a former life. OMFG it was good! SUCH a girly drink though, lol. All the chickadees were on him like bees to honey...something very funny about watching a girl drinking a thick pink liquid from a pitcher. *smirks*

At some point I took part in my second, and probably last, tasting of absynthe. Sorry kids, it just tastes bad. I cannot stand the taste of liquorice, and well, no matter how much sugar or water you add, it still tastes like it. Blech! I drank enough to mix it up with the fruity-goodness of the previous drink, and well, I vaguely remember going upstairs to get a photo [livejournal.com profile] nomadoh gave me earlier in the evening; next thing I know, [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy was waking me up to go home. I apparently laid down (OK, I lied...I don't recall actually laying down at all LOL) on [livejournal.com profile] nomadoh's bed when I went upstairs. Yet another reason I don't like absynthe -- makes me sleepy. The last time I drank it I fell asleep on [livejournal.com profile] jjjiii's shoulder. Not to say that either of these places is necessarily a bad place to sleep, but sleeping at parties isn't very...polite, I guess? I dunno...weird, either way.

I did see some nifty things walking to the car, and vaguely recall an intoxicated [livejournal.com profile] nomadoh dancing when I said goodnight. The trees were all dancing too, and the sky was glowy...that was nice. Bless [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy's heart for driving -- I wouldn't have made it home had I driven myself. Then again, I wouldn't have drank so much either. It was nice not being the responsible one though - I don't do that very often.

Slept the whole ride home and hazily recall fwomping down upon the couch.

Now it's 7AM, and I am still a bit tipsy, but awake. I just listened to Gabe's message on the phone...he called around 2AM, but I was long gone in an orange squishy world by then. ~8/ Oh well - I think I'll go back to sleep now for a few hours. Thank you [profile] nomadoh for a fun evening, and [livejournal.com profile] wraptboy for being such a good friend and taking care of me last night.

Nomadoh's roommate = del = me. I was told to read your post, and I enjoyed it. Just thought I'd mention Hardy = Hari, and he is a super cool guy, and yep he's a phenom drummer. If he's playing again I can pass the word. Also, Jim = my dad, and he is quite a character isn't he? Sad I missed the bottle cap piercing episode...that's so his style.

Oh hey!

It was nice meeting you last night. Hari and your dad (OMFG I had NO idea! LOL) were such a trip to talk to and banter back and forth with.

Definitely let me know if Hari plays out. I'd love to support him...such a nice guy!

Hari rocks, musically and in other ways. My dad is just a trip. The two of them have been friends only later in their lives, but they have connected so tightly they call each other their "brother from another mother"...it's a riot. Nice meeting you too.
