OK, so this isn't all THAT poo-disturbing, but...

does it strike anyone else odd that Macy Gray is opening for David Bowie?

Moreover, that the show is being sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger?

And that the ONLY stations on the radio advertising the show are Soft Rock 102.1 (home to the infamous "Delilah") and Magic Oldies 105.7?
*see comments for why I struck that last bit...my world is a bit more condensed than I thought -- oh well, I am just going by what I have actually experienced*

Wow...whatever happend to our Goblin King?

Last night began scary at work. One of my residents had a BP of 168/115, and she was very pallid and tired. After laying down for twenty minutes though, her BP went back to normal and she said she felt better. What is up with all my clients freaking me out???

Later, I decided to see if one of the ladies wanted to go shopping for groceries. Judy is a stinker, always giving staff a hard time, and oh! She can push even the most well-hidden of buttons! I love it though -- she doesn't do it with me, knows it doesn't effect me the same way. At any rate, one of her favorite buttons to push REPEATEDLY is asking for ice cream after dinner when we don't have any. From this point, she begins yelling, knowing damn well we don't have it. I don't blame her for not wanting the fruit cocktail that we serve what, every other day? SO, I asked her if she wanted to go get some for herself, and maybe some other items she enjoys. She bounced like a little kid, clapped her hands, and ran to get her jacket.

As we were heading out the door, another guy asked if he could come. So, it was me, Judy and Mike off to conquer Strongsville.

They both had so much fun. It was great! We hit Pat Catan's on the way as well because the house has needed fresh art supplies forever, and the cash was available to me to get them. Judy picked out this cool clay set which I cannot wait to watch them play with. The crew at Howe House is a creative one, many have even sold some artwork at CCBMRDD-sponsored art shows. We also got some paints, construction paper, and markers. Mike and Judy didn't see anything else they thought we needed, so we paid for the supplies and headed to Target.

Judy was happy as a plum. She got all kinds of sweet stuff, from pudding to ice cream to Capri Sun. Oh, and of course the caffiene-free diet Pepsi. Yeah, DIET with all the other shtuff. LOL

Mike wasn't as eager to buy things, although he was completely taken by a Halloween mug (he's a big fan of monsters and Halloween...no wonder we get along so well!).

When we got to the register, the girl kept talking to me about the items. Just when I was about to say something about talking to Judy because it was her shtuff we were ringing up, Judy knocked on the counter in between them, saying," Uh, HELLLOOOO!"

This took the girl by surprise, and she looked at Judy strangely.
Judy told her," I's MINE! I got pay?"

The girl nodded. Mike was grinning from ear-to-ear, and I had to stifle laughing at the girl who was suddenly very flushed.

Judy paid for her things, and then Mike did too. Both of them thanked the girl, and as we walked out, Mike tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to look at him, and he made a sarcastic face, imitating Judy and said,"Helloooo!"

We all laughed as we headed back to the van, and then home.

People have so much to learn about one another, especially those who are at all different than they are. I think the world would be a much more pleasant place if people just got over themselves and opened their minds and hearts to others, regardless of their looks/ gender/ race/ abilities and/ or disabilities. Ah, the joys of idealism!

Oh well...last night was fun, and that's all that matters. Two people are happier today, excited they have their own groceries and can escape the menu they've been eating from for years.
