see "avoidant"
Jan. 17th, 2003 02:16 pmWhere do you currently work?
At a group home with eight fabulous individuals who are cognitively disabled.
How many other jobs have you had and where?
Oh damn...I have worked in a restaurant (6 weeks when I was 15), at a boat factory (officially, my shortest job ever - less than a day), as a traffic director at music festivals, photographer/ film developer at Busch Gardens VA, child photographer, embosser at a photo album factory, daycare teacher, body piercer, an habilitation specialist, and now a supervisor of habilitation. I think thaz all...
What do you like best about your job?
The unconditional love that is given to me daily.
What do you like least about your job?
The incompetence and seemingly apathetic nature of the other people working around me.
The horrible wages people in this field make for the work they do.
Oh, and the hypocrisy of the *Big Kahunas*, who all but staple their "values" into our skulls, expect those of us in "higher" positions to teach/ enforce these values, but then paint all over them with mud while they go to tanning booths and get manicures.
What is your dream job?
Specifically, singing on a stage somewhere in Italy.
Moreover, doing anything I am passionate about and living comfortably as a result of that.
