It's gonna be a quiet time
Dec. 6th, 2002 05:48 pmI have been fighting the ick the past few days. My throat's been all scratchy, my nose runny and, alas, my lungs are kinda gurgly.
Not good. not good at all.
So, tea, honey, ginger, Dayquil, Halls, humidifier, the works. Yeah, it'll get better.
It HAS TO GET BETTER!!!
I went to practice with the faculty people i will be singing with on the 13th. And you know what? I'm reeeee-e-e-eeeally fucking scared. The soprano alone, holy shite! She holds this high D like it's a soft, warm bunny in her lap, only spewing forth from her lips like molasses. She's a voice teacher at East campus i guess.
She makes me feel like a li'l starving mouse shivering in the corner.
Gary Scott, the music director at West, was funny to sing with though. He's "really a trumpet player, for Christ's sake!" LOL His voice is baritone, but he pulls off a low tenor pretty well, despite all his bitching and moaning.
There's these other two professors, one's name is Jon. I have no idea who the other guy was. All i know is that he's a jazz musician, and he read the music like ABC today.
I need to work on some rhythm issues yet, but for the most part, considering the crackle in my voice and lack of usual lung-capacity, I held my own OK. Just nervous really.
Tonight, I am going to the Gallery Mosaic, or the Mosaic Galleria, or something like that. There's an art opening, and the DN peeps will be there, and want some other DN peeps to show up, get the place razzled with our *movement*.
After, I guess people are doing the Chamber. I really wish that i could, but with my breathing and throat problems, no way am I going to get within ten feet of regular cigarettes, let alone cloves and smoke machines.
Pretty much the weekend = rest, practice, work (I so wish I didn't have to work at all this weekend!)I need to get ahold of
theswede for something he said I could borrow.
Oh, and the siren is going red again. Leahbug told me to, and well, she always wins. 'cause she's cute. She said she thought my hair was "perty" in purple, but that I should dye it "Red, really red like like yore coat, Dawn Dawn!"
*smiles*
I'm going with a dark red, actually. Burgendy-ish. Speaking of, I need to get on with my that now. Lots to do in very little time.
I soo hate time.
Oh and
lemming_radio ... so far, the tape is marvelous! Thanks so much!!!

Re: hey
Date: 2002-12-07 12:30 pm (UTC)Actually, I am still a part of the community (or at least my userinfo page says I am???), but I don't *watch* it. I have more of a tendency to visit communities when I have extra time; unfortunately, that isn't too often as of recently.
But thanks for the compliment, and for adding me.~8) So far, I am enjoying your LJ tremendously!
