Snuffy
Which Sesame Street Muppet's Dark Secret Are You?

brought to you by Quizilla

Snuffy's Suicide Attempts Poor baby, life is rough for you, huh? No one seems to see you, no one notices your pain--except for your friend Big Bird, but he's alway off hanging out with his other friends. You wish you were him, all happy and curious and popular and bright yellow. You feel like his shadow anymore, like the only reason you exist is to amuse him. It's hard being somebody's imaginary friend. But stop trying to kill yourself--imaginary people can't kill themselves*But what if I can kill imaginary people?*. Sorry. And hey, maybe tomorrow you'll feel better! Someday people will see you, I promise!

really though - I wanted grover.
*sniff*

but shhh... don't tell!

Snuffulupogus (sp?) is an imaginary friend? I thought I remembered seeing him talking with people other then Big Bird. The things you learn online :)

You're correct in that he can now be seen by grown-ups. However, for the first decade or so of the show's run he could not be seen by adults other than the childlike Big Bird.

Showing your age through quizes . . .

You can tell the author of that quiz is at least as old as I am, because he's describing Snuffy as he was at least a decade or two ago.

What many kids today don't know is that in the beginning, Snuffy was completely invisible to all grown-ups except for Big Bird. Many scenes of comedy were made from this little fact as the big yellow bird and the kids attempted to convinced the unbelieving adults as to Snuffy's existence.

The show's producers changed this sometime in either the eighties or nineties (my memory is foggy on this) because they wanted to discourage children from hiding things like being abused from grown-ups because they'd think adults wouldn't believe them any more than the Sesame Street adults believed Big Bird.

you may want to take back your sentiment, my friend.
