Happy thought for my today
Oct. 9th, 2002 02:12 pmMy dad turned 65 today.
sixty-effing-five.
whoa.
When he was turning sixty, I plotted against him and by some grace of something, I rounded up all five siblings to donate to the birthday scheme; he would get a Flamingo Surprise in his front yard, only in the shape of sixty li'l racecars and a sign that read, "Holy shitsky! Donald's Sixty!" (no, I didn't come up with that load of brilliance, but it was funny no less!)
Five years ago...wow. Time flies by (but not always like a flamingo - shiver at the thought of pink wooshings-ack!)
In all of this, I have a sad thought too...~8/
I have nothing for him this year because of my paying for school along with the rest of my bills. I cannot even go visit him because I have work in less than an hour, and was at school all morning.
He is thankful though, when we just call.
So yeah...I'm getting off the 'puter now, and trying to hold on to the happy thought that my father is still kicking at 65 MPH.
