I guess when the world is asleep, and ya gotta go...*shrugs* oh well. She felt bad about it...her ears were down when I got up, and her tail between her legs. At least she didn't do it in Dawndom, as she slept with me much of the night, err, morning.

Cleaned it all up, checked e-mail, wraptboy woke up and started working on moving his studio up the street.

yup, the changes have truly begun.

I read through a bunch of OU shtuff last night, and felt a little sad. I'm going to have to go down there alone initially, being that my orientation was not scheduled for Friday the 23rd as I'd hoped, but instead Thursday the 22nd. This means I have to go down on Wednesday night, either stay in Columbus with friends (haven't even looked into this yet) and drive down early OR stay in the dorms at OU, possibly with someone I don't know.

None of this bothers me so much, but what does bum me out a bit is the fact that I was going to make it a weekend camping trip, but since I'll be going down on Wednesday, and Jay and Kelly have to work Thursday...well, I'll either have to stay down there somewhere by myself again on Thursday and wait for them, or drive back to Cleveland that night and then who knows what the hell will happen.

I need a short-term job that won't care if I am taking these side trips because of school. I need money for rent, for orientation...which reminds me.


Tonight I am singing at Chammps in Valley View in hopes of winning their (s)karaoke contest ($1000 grand prize). If anyone wants to come out to be supportive, that'd be rad. I need the money, badly. The show starts at 9PM, should you wish to come out. Not sure how many people I'll be up against, but there have really been some incredible voices in this contest, so it'll be worth sitting through - no bad drunks crooning away to Lynnard Skynnard, I promise.~;)


OK, time to drink my tea and think positively. I need good ju-ju for tonight.

No, it's this month, July 22nd.

And yep, that's where I am transferring. They have a great music program and a mezzo-soprano voice instructor, Patricia Pease, whom I am hoping to work with while I am there. They're hard to find.

My first college b/f was a grad student in the school of music. He sang opera. He was the lead in the first opera that I went to (I think it was called The Magic Flute or something like that). I studied clariet for a while. You're right: good school.

Hmmmm... the 22nd, huh? My b/f and I were planning on going down there soon. Are you interested in carpooling at all?

I don't mind carpooling at all! The idea though, just so you know, is that on Thursday (from 8AMish until like 5PM I guess? hafta check again) I will be "orienting" myself with the college, finishing up all unfinished business.

I'd like to wander the town a bit that night, and then, depending on my roommates and such, I think we were going to camp the weekend somewhere near there. Lotsa neat campgrounds down there, not to mention we just haven't had the chance to do so yet.

So yeah...if you two would like to go down with me, I'd likely leave in Wednesday night, maybe earlier in the evening so I can get some decent sleep. Not sure of sleeping arrangements for Wednesday yet though...I think I may have to figure that out for a spell longer.

How long did you two want to stay down for, and did you have a place to stay/ a place you wanted to stay?

I'd definitely have a place to stay, but now that I think of it, I'm not sure what my b/f's work schedule is going to be like that week. I shouldn't committ to making plans like that (no matter how much i want to go) without knowing that for certain.

However! If I gave you a handling fee, do you think you could pick up an OU Alumni license plate thingie for me? I have one all picked out and ready. I could order it from the bookstore and pay for it over the phone.

Also, "Die Zauberflote" (AKA The Magic Flute) is a fun opera. I saw the Cleveland Opera's opening of it last year...Mozart was a sick and twisted man, making a soprano sing that high (Queen of the Night). I think the funniest part about that character though, in case you didn't know, is that she is based on his nagging mother-in-law. ~8)

That's awesome that your ex (?) was the lead in it. I wasn't impressed with the CO's lead male, although Popageno and Popagena were incredible (the two buffoons).

YAY! Coolness. We are heading down at around 8:30ish to make sure we get seats and shtuff. It actually starts at 9PM, but I don't want to sign up too early in the show. Just not a good idea.

Sadly, it's all mainstream, usually ballads. Every show I've ever won, including the semi-finals for tonight's show, I've sung Celine Dion's version of "The Power of Love." I know...*shivers*...but hey, in the past several years that song has won me over $500 in cash and a trip to Cancun MX!

I don't know what I will sing tonight, honestly. I don't really want to sing that song again, and am not so sure if I am allowed since I already used it in the contest. Also, the Chammps' song list is incredibly limited, so it's tricky all around.
