thedarksiren2 | Ton o' bricks leaves a trail of dust

Thanks to all who made it out to the show last night. Missile Command kicked ass, as did State of Being...amazing crowd, amazing vibe in the air - it was awesome. Many many thanks to the Droid-boys for giving me such a great opportunity to sing. I have so much fun up there with you, and last night's singing was incredibly cathartic on a number of levels. Seriously, thank you.

As for tonight, there will be no (s)karaoke. Seems our dear spaz-face Eddie replaced me while I was gone. Well, no...he lost the gig at Pat Dee's to some hick DJ (which is fine...I really hated that show anyway), and Tuesdays have some new guy he hired who supposedly brings his friends in and thus *helps* the night. Whatever...I really didn't like doing it for the most part, although Tuesdays were fun much of the time. I am not an announcer-type though -- I like singing into mics, playing music as a DJ, but the whole talking into the microphone thang just wasn't my dealio.

The good news is that I now have a li'l extra time on my hands.
The bad news...I am not bringing in any money whatsoever.

I am OK for about another month, but I really have to look into an easy job for the next ten weeks or so, something between the $8-$10 range, preferably. I hate job-hunting, but I have to if I am to make it through the summer and to school without woes.

Maybe I'll hit up the contest at Chammps again this week. That'd take care of a few things for me. I don't have much on my shoulders monetarily speaking, as my early withdrawal took care of all that, really. I just want to make sure I can do all I need to do, and still do what I WANT to do too, like going to AZ next week. Speaking of which, I need to call

laneybee and see if she might be interested in heading out there for a small stint. I just want to drive across the country and see beautiful things, not to mention Gabe. I so miss him. *sigh*

Did I mention he sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, welcoming me back to the states? They're really pretty, reds, yellows, oranges...happy, bright flowers with a pretty vase, and the note he sent along with them brought tears to my eyes. It meant so much to me...~8)

Today, my butt hurts, along with a few other parts. Damn fine workout with

sharpshinyclaws yesterday. Thanks for sticking around, B. We'll definitely have to keep going together - it's lots more fun that way.
