Something to cheer me up...
Feb. 12th, 2004 11:53 amAn interview from
poliwitch:
1) Okay, one day you wake up and realize your singing voice is gone forever. Tell me how you would overcome this, and channel that energy into something else?
Well, first I'd empty my bank account and 401K, then I'd find the best smack on the streets...JUST KIDDING!!! LOL
Really though, that is my worst nightmare. I think you know that already, but yeah. Hmm...well, my guess is that if my voice were gone, I would be unable to speak, and in such a state I would have a LOT to say. I would likely lose myself in writing and focus on photography. After all, my second idea for a major was photo journalism. Oh, to work for National Geographic...*drools*
2) If you could live anywhere where would it be and why?
Well, I am going to limit this to places I have been. Prolly San fran, and that is the goal, honestly. I miss the climate of CA, not to mention I don't think my brain has ever changed times from the west coast. I also think though that people over there are much more approachable, and well, CA is home to me.
3) If there was anyone alive or dead you could sing with who would it be and why?
Oohhh...toughy! I think it would be amazing to sing with Hildegard von Bingen. She was this amazing nun who sang despite the church forbidding women to do so. She composed some of the most gorgeous sacred music, and was the first to take chanting a step beyond the droning. Women with such courage and innovation astound me.
4) Why are coffee swirls mysterious?
Because anything of true entertainment value in Dawndom is mysterious.~8)
Gawd, they entertain me to no end too! LOL
5) Which element do you feel a close kinship to and why?
Earth mostly, which I suppose has something to do with my sun sign, but really, I just remember sitting in trees when I was a kid, climbing them all the time. I could fly up their trunks and hide from anything that made me sad. I would find glorious fruits, singing birds that liked to hear me sing too, and fascinating hives that I had no business messing with. I did anyway.~8) SOme people might relate this to the air, being as I was high above, but I always knew their roots were deep in the soil below, and that made me warm all over.
I also played in the mud a lot, got my fingers dirty by lifting up rocks and chasing red-racers across the yard. It is stability, the earth, and as far as my memory goes back in time, I have yearned for it.
Then again, I love the ocean, and miss living by it. Kinda circles back to wanting to live in San Fran...*shrugs*
Want to play?
