Dec. 21st, 2003 03:49 pmI am at work and SOOO not in the work mood. I keep thinking about how I am going to get my car to my da's so he can fix it (it died several days ago, and has yet to be resurrected), about a boy who is just way too friggin' eager and whom I want to smash right now, another boy whom I could melt into and ooze back out of if circumstances were only better, how I am going to behave when I meet a man who has taken 1st place in a world where he should really be second, about how I really don't have a whole lot of money to spend for Christmas but will be spending away tomorrow (my only day to shop before Christmas, oh, and the concept of the "lifegasm," presented to me by an angel and his best friend, a blossoming tree of strength.~8)
So with all of that in mind, I stumbled across this and thought it might give me something to look forward to after work. I mean, I have something already...gonna hang with
bindrune and escape to Jawndomay where I will be a baking madwoman tonight. It will be good.
Without further ado...
I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."
I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.
Have fun!

Date: 2003-12-21 01:22 pm (UTC)So... speaking of me. What really can be said about perfection? I like pegasi. And pheonixes (how does one plurify pheonix?), though I'm not much of a fire person, except for when it involves melting wax or bonfires. I like bonfires. The best part of bonfires, however, is lots of friends gathered around talking and joking and singing old folk songs. People you know and sort of know and don't know all mixing about and feeling connected. Wandering around between groups that are loud or serious or mellow or quiet depending on one's mood.
I miss bonfire parties. I tend to get nostalgic over places where large groups of friends met, and sometimes I fear that the loss of the place will bring the loss of the people. Which it does, because only the friends stay close. You need the place to keep together with the ones you sort of know and those you don't know. So I miss places, but I miss them for the people I didn't get to know well enough to know outside the place.
Oh, and Mountain Dew.

Date: 2003-12-21 06:14 pm (UTC)His name is cuddles.
He is my first best friend.
I've had him since I was 4.
I have never *not* slept a night without him.

Date: 2003-12-26 05:58 am (UTC)a little about me
Date: 2003-12-22 07:59 am (UTC)jets to brazil and juliana hatfield are two of my favorite bands/artists
i play piano, bass, guitar, turntables, and sing
i prefer long-sleeved shirts instead of short-sleeved ones
"ooh as the heavens shudder baby i belong to you" is one of my favorite song lyrics (the sundays)
i wear jelly bracelets and not because hot topic sells them. i have worn them since 1984 when it was "gay" to wear them. they're like my security blanket. (i have about 20 on each wrist)
i am vegetarian but trying to become vegan
my three favorite movies are before sunrise, american beauty, and clueless
i am an aspiring indie filmmaker, and a musician that writes practically all styles of non-mainstream music
i cannot fucking stand cigarettes or cigarette smoke or people who reek of it
my favorite person in the whole world is my best friend and girlfriend megan
i am the biggest henry rollins fan, and have every single one of his books (out of print, but not the ones that are WAY out of print-- xerox copied ghetto books that he first put out)... i have most of his spoken word CDs... missing like two. i worship him and his writing is a big reason i turned out to be the person i am today
my favorite food is probably stir fry with white rice and vegan chicken
i used to be addicted to fruitopia in 1995, now i'm a snapple man
i'm 27 but look 18.

Date: 2003-12-22 09:34 am (UTC)- I worry CONSTANTLY about EVERYTHING
- I like cold pizza in the mornings for breakfast
- I have an odd need to pick off the meat from my sandwiches and just eat the bread and cheese
- It ruins my whole day if I don't have my morning coffee.
- I am either very outgoing or extremely inside myself...never in between
- I hate mushrooms, olives, veal and can't even LOOK at runny egg whites without feeling sick.
