I thought I'd get some thoughts out of my head while I sent muzaak to friends through AIM, when all of the sudden, I heard them, giggling and clinking tiny glasses, and my feet tickled me to movement.
The Muses have arrived, and the party has only just begun.
Of course, these little buggers are prone to their transient nature, so they may only stay a short while. Keeping this in mind, I still felt the need to sleep, and left AIM and muzaak to the night.
But the li'l buggers tripped me, and as I reached to keep my balance with the wall before me, I stood at
wraptboy's studio door, glaring in at the posterboard I knew I had to have done before school tomorrow (today?).
Six geese-a-laying. Yup, this was my assignment. I drew six Canadian Geese (seemed appropriate, considering the overabundance of them at Tri-C west, turning the fountain green...bleh!) with hula skirts on, dancing with their leis around their necks. How clever am I??? Not very, really.
Then I remembered the drawing that has been formulating in my brain for at least two weeks, and my hands just did as the spritely told them to. cyclones in orange, red and yellow, all the rest is a blur. All I know is that, all of a sudden it's 5:25 A.M., and I have barely slept at all the past two days. Still, my arms and hands are covered in chalk, my eyes burned and droopy.
The geese are done, but the other piece only half came out tonight. I need to look at my sketches again...damn, this has been a long time coming. I have to wonder, why now? Of all the times, why is tonight more appropriate than any other day?
Damn, I remember being 19 and staying up for days on end. The hallucinations were spectacular, and the thoughts that drifted in and out back then? wow.
I am getting there now, and I haven't even been up 24 hours yet.
Oh, but damn my back is killing me.
Eyes heavy
Gus Gus lullabies encouraging me...must...beat...the...sprites!
OK, sleep calls.
My right hand is all orange.
the skin is tight and dry too.
I wonder if I am allergic to chalk.
Hrmmm...
OK ok...sleep. Get your partying arse's outta my abode and lemme rest, peacefully please.
