Nov. 10th, 2003 09:09 amI feel like the world is passing me by at an unbelievable pace, and I can barely grasp a string, let alone hold onto any rope that might keep me above water. Not that I am sinking...at least, not in a bad way, if at all. No, just pushing onward, trying to keep perspective and vision on equal grounds. They are two sides to a war in my head, and sometimes the battle scenes are more gory than is necessary, but I feel as if I lose control and well, the casualties of war are always great.
The other night went fairly well. I got to the show pretty late, EDT eating away at my soul. David K. was cool about it though, especially since the Symposium was dead. Here is my setlist, in case anyone is interested:
11/8/03
Wildcats of Kilkenny - The Pogues
Cut - Miranda Sex Garden
Snapshot - Roni Size
Papua New Guinea:Graham Massey Mix - FSOL
Canyon: Split Assunder - Russel Mills
A Real Indication - Thought Gang
*Boys Better - The Dandy Warhols
100% - Sonic Youth
Only Shallow - My Bloody Valentine
Hands Around My Throat - Death in Vegas
World in My Eyes: Alpha Conspiracy remix - Depeche Mode
Pretty When you Cry - V.A.S.T.
Nothing Stays - Cyberaktif
Cuor Senza Sangue (Odji de C) - Operatrance

Decadent played amazingly well. I haven't seen them live in quite some time, and their sound just keeps getting stronger and more tightly woven together. I am really proud of them for how far they've come. I've known David K. since I was about 20, and when I stop to think about him in his basement eight years ago as compared to now...just awesome.
LOTS of strangeness in the air Saturday though. I tried to avoid all of it, just observe and keep my distance. I hope all is well with everyone.
Also, I was given the gift of song by
android23, and am loving it. I have to talk to you more about what you & poop want with this. I have ideas, but I think you both had some pre-existing notions and I would like to stay on the same page.
Someday I will get in touch with Busher. I have no idea what is wrong with me. In the meantime, there is a nudge for One Aside to get back together for the next Night Gallery (February 2004). It was never my intention to play as a duo again, at least under those circumstances. However, I told Des that if we could come up with more original matreials I might consider it. I have a few new pieces I am working on right now at school that would be rad to sing on a stage somewhere, but again...One Aside is called that because??? That's right...it was supposed to happen just once. Hence the name...ONE...
No bitters about any of this. Just spewing my brain.
Well, time to finish my homework. Had bleakfast at Sal's with
wraptboy, discussed plans for a possible comic book character. I woke up with him in my head, and have spent the better part of the morning laughing and smiling.
It doesn't feel like Monday.
Maybe last Monday has finally passed, and we are all free.
Well, except for that whole going to work on a Monday thing.
Thank gawd I don't have to do that anymore.
Just school
and then,
adventure.
heh
tonight will certainly sit high on the list of "What are some of the most insane things I have ever done?"
More later though...homework, school, gasoline, possible movie and tea and cookies over conversation and real-life smiles.
YAY!
