Diversity Day
Sep. 16th, 2003 12:07 pmEverything happens all at once.
We are born
The light blinds us into disbelief
Somewhere between realization and erections
we find our humanity.
lemonmerchant posted about an, "abused corpse."
Not like the serial killer in Poppy Z. Brite's Exquisite Corpse, oh no. Not nearly that interesting. Someone just forget to freeze the stiff, and well, he didn't get stiff so much as bloated and blue.
Bloated. and. Blue.
Could be a good name for a death metal band,
or a bad commercial for gas relief.

So, I have roughly a week left of full-time work, and I am finding this great calm overriding my senses. I am not doing that well in my classes at this point because I haven't had the time to study, really. I have tried though, in between the little bit of sleep and work and actual classes, I HAVE tried. Thank goodness for professors who drop the lowest test grade. I cannot even remember the last time I had one with such a low score. Very disconcerting, considering I have been on the Dean's List as long as I have been attending.
Speaking of which, I actually get recognized for this later in the month, or maybe it's in October? Yes, October. That's right. I remember because the Tri-C Chorale is singing at the ceremony as well.
I escaped the masses of people in the hallways and commons here at Tri-C today. LOTS of people! OMG! It is Diversity Day, and everyone is performing and eating and some girls are doing henna on pop-culture addicts near the smoking section. There was an amazing choir earlier. Of course, I couldn't spend much time listening to them because I had to listen to chord progressions instead in Ear Training.
Speaking of which, there is a mysterious boy in there who strikes me curious. His name is Victor, but I guess he goes by Emmanuelle(Sp?) I don't know why or whatever, but he is fascinating to me. He is quiet, drifts in and out of class like a warm breeze. His complexion is warm, reminds me of Mexico, although I have no idea where he's actually from. He apparently took the pre-req. class a few years ago, and is just doing all of this because he finds it interesting. Not because he wants to make a career, but because it is interessante. I only wish I had the money and time to do such things.~8P At any rate, he writes pretty music, as I heard a piece he is working on for piano, a composition comprised mostly of tonal clusters that make your spine shiver somewhere between exhilaration and despair. Absolutely fascinating to me.
Narcissistic Moment of the Day:
I find it incredibly amusing how someone like me, who is not a cat-person (but rather, incredibly allergic to them) has so many feline-type qualities. Or, so I am told. Add the "Curiosity...blah blah blah" to the equation, and it's downright amusing.
Or maybe I am just tired.
*shrugs*
Five hours to take-off.
Thank gawd someone decided to come along. I really didn't want to go to Detroit alone. Not that I am afraid of going, just that I kinda need company if I am to survive the drive back, not to mention it sucks always going to shows alone. Sometimes I wonder if I am the only one with the musical tastes I have. I know there are more of you out there, I just can't ever seem to find someone to go to shows with. OH well, Adrian is cool, and I have never really spent time with him, other than at parties and the Chamber.
I have a feeling I will be taking some serious caffiene in later on in the day.
OK, I am done babbling.
For now, anyway.
I gots me some homework to do!!!
That's how this works, you know. I do my homework like a good girl, I get to go to Detroit.
Accomplish and reward thyself.

Date: 2003-09-16 10:14 am (UTC)of course I do, silly man! Just because I am all quiet doesn't mean I am not paying attention.
And I miss you as well. Bunches. I have this strange nostalgic feeling reminiscent of Bowling Green making my heart all twittery...*sniffles*
