just a question to everyone:

So you're stuck in some desolate place with zero access to civilization (ie- a deserted island), and one person, whom you don't know at all, is stuck there with you. You have a toothbrush and toothpaste, they do not.

Would you share?

I woulda done a poll, but I haven't gotten to make this account paid again, so leave me some comments, please!

Have a faboolicious day!

I would, but not if their teeth were better than mine, like, if they were a wreck and needed the toothbrush to save their teeth then yes, but also I wouldn't if they had really nasty gross teeth, because then I'd probably just kill them.

i think i would let them borrow my toothpaste, and either make my own toothbrush, or make them one....with like...coconut bark or something like that...heh:P

makes ya wonder if sand might be useful for keeping the teeth clean...abrasive and icky, for sure, but hell, it might work!

I would share, but probably spend more time washing the brush then brushing my own teeth :)

thank god for banana trees!
I heard if you chop one down and dig a hole in the remaining trunk that it will fill with water (safe for drinking) in a day.

hmm...

i think I might agree with you on this one though. BLECH!

I'll have to bring a banana tree with me next time I plan on being stuck out in the middle of nowhere with questionable water supply :)

I think if we were stranded somewhere on an island, we'd have more pressing issues than minty fresh breath. *snicker*.

In any event, I woudln't share...because they wouldn't know I had it. I'm territorially protective like that. :P

I'd give them my toothbrush and make new for myself. If I happened to have toothpaste (not sure how that would happen) I'd gladly give it to them.

If that is not an option (that is, the rules of the island forbid making toothbrushes), I would selfishly hold on to mine. They can still have the toothpaste though.

I would never ever share. I'd give the brush and the toothpaste to them, that way, I wouldn't have to smell the stench of their mouths. They can smell my rotting teeth instead.

I would share unless they had some serious mouth problem. In that case, I'd just give it to them.

The brush and paste would wear out/run out soon enough, so I'd concentrate on learning more about primitive oral hygiene to benefit both of us, and politely suggest that they do the same.

uh? hey folks!
But when you rinsed the toothpaste out your mouth into the local water ecology... wouldn’t that fuck with the marine life?
i mean those chemicals are great for fresh breath and all, but if you don't know that person... are you really in a hurry to stick you nose in their mouth?
and wouldn’t those same chemicals harm the local fish and other sea biology?
if your really on some "gotta keep my bad breath in check!" shit, then stick you finger and some water in your mouth and get used to the "local flavor"!

Like I said above, I'd likely use a banana tree for a water source, seeing as sea water is not good for you.
Yeah, it'd likely mess with the ecological system too, but hell, we do that every day wwe live in civilization as it is; why kid ourselves otherwise? Have you been to the Rainforest at the Cleveland Zoo recently? There's a little graph that shows what the rainforests will be like in ten, twenty years...just devastating. before we know it, we'll have killed so much of the plant life in the world we won't have the oxygen production necessary for our own survival!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] milky_?

I ♥ you too!!!
*MUAH!*

miss hanging out with ya...LOTS!

yea i've seen that exhibit and it's really haunting!
showing the unchecked progress of foresters was at the least an eye opener.
to this day i'm on some "think globally, act locally" shit!
(It’s the tree huger in me.)
