Such was the theme...
Went to skaraoke at Gracy's, as per plan and order. I had my reservations, and there was some tension in the air, but it soon dissipated and we all played well together. I saw so many people I have not seen and miss tremendously...I do need to get out more.
Eventually, our posse went two different ways, planning to eventually meet back up at Cable Mark's house.
wraptboy and I showed up two minutes after the others had left for the night. I hope
bindrune isn't too upset with us.
I followed Big Daddy Mark into his house and he began chatting with a fellow, then suddenly left him at the table beside me. A few seconds of silence before I decided to be social and introduce myself. The next couple of hours turned into Maceo Ellington (surely a relative of Duke~8P) and I mutually watching people, mumbling to each other and to ourselves...it was great to have someone new to talk to, to see another world for a spell. The best part? It wasn't just small talk, it was a bit more heavy than that (except for the bathroom adventures...that was pretty silly!) He is a musician, which made it even better because I had something to talk about besides work and school. Those came up eventually, but all in all the conversation was the highlight of my night.
I left the party with his info, an invite to people-watch another time, and two CD's from Big Daddy of his band.
Now, I am TIRED. Eight hours of sleep didn't get me very far today. Been an uphill struggle all day. It ended so well though...
