1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why?
had to start off with a tough one, eh? LOL There is not one single person whom I can pin down as my very favorite. There's just too much talent out there in the big ol' world! I have some favs, for sure, people whose musicianship definitely surpasses what some might consider "average," but it's more like a quality than a contest. These people possess the ability to touch me through song, and the sound of their instruments, be they voice or otherwise, haunts me.
2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why?
Just one? Damn.
Umm...I dunno. The Offspring grates my nerves anytime I hear them, as do Godsmack and the new lead singer for the band known as Love Spirals (formerly Love Spirals Downwards). She just doesn't have the same passion in her voice that Susan Perry did in LSD.*sigh*
3. If your favorite singer wasn't in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person?
I'm going to steal
evilshell's response to this, just because it's perfect:
"Being a musician/singer changes someone radically. You can't say what kind of a person they'd be like if they never were in the business. So, this question is kind of pointless from my perspective."
4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show?
nope. never.
*evil grins*
OF COURSE I HAVE, YOU NIMROD!!!
Began with Iron Maiden when I was twelve and clueless. The last one I attended would be Delerium in Detroit (OMG!!! Still coming down from that show!) Of the shows I have seen, which I cannot even count anymore, I would have to say that Dead Can Dance, Portishead, Pink FLoyd and Peter Gabriel have put on the best shows overall.
5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from dowloading free music?
I think this is a bunch of hogwash, honestly. If Metallica's combined egos were cash, we'd probably be able to feed all the hungry people in the streets! I mean, come on....that's what it's about. They don't make money selling albums so much as they do by going on tours, merchandise, etc. I think the RIAA is filled with money-hungry mongrels who are just pissed off they didn't come up with the idea in the first place and MARKET it! I think it is even more ridiculous that they are trying to sue/ prosecute people who've downloaded music via Napster, etc. They might as well tear down a bunch of neighborhoods and turn them into giant penetenturies.
