Tonight is...
Nov. 16th, 2002 01:45 amone of those times when
all I want
is to talk and laugh and lose myself in someone else's stories
perhaps share/ compare my own.
That's it mostly - I want to share with someone.
I finally got my gumption up to change into something presentable & walked across the street to Lava Lounge. Damn, it's COLD!!! BRRR!!!
I hate being cold.
As soon as I walk in the door, the doorguy, whose name i can NEVER remember stops me to say how much he loves The Box. I giggled shyly, saying thank-you, when he noticed The Elmo. He began saying how cool my big, red fuzzy coat is, asking where it came from. I told him I killed a million Elmos for it. He about died!
We then had the best disussion ever about how Elmo is the bane of Grover's existence, and that all Elmos should die or be mangled. We spoke of The Monster at the End of the Book, Grover's new tennis shoes, and just how outstanding Grover is in general - he told me, "Grover was my FRIEND!!!"
It was one of the best conversations I've had all week.
Shortly thereafter, I ran upstairs in hopes of finding the usual suspects to no avail.
Mild disappointment ensued, mostly due to the fact that I had gotten dressed-up, at least a tad, walked to the bar in like 25 degree weather (OK, so it's 37) ALONE, and didn't feel social enough to be brave and talk to new people.
So I thanked the doorman-guy for the fun talk, and walked home.
When I got here, I thought for a minute about what my next move should be.
jjjiii left rum in our fridge from the party, but what fun is drinking alone?
I made a few calls - yes, on the telephone.
Miracles never cease in Dawndom - y'all should know that by now.
Finally got ahold of one
love_power. It seems he and the other kids went bowling at some rock-a-billy thing in Lakewood. It was very loud there, and then
sharpshinyclaws jumped on, and told me that ll kinds of people had been there (including smhb~8(), and that they called earlier but I wasn't here (nope, I was working -imagine!)
But they didn't feel like leaving a message, so I was not in on the gameplan.
*sigh*
So, here I sit, waiting because she said they'd be done soon and over to kidnap me in an hour - it's been more than that, but hell, it's not like I am going anywhere else. I guess I could sleep, but I kinda don't want to yet.
Then again, dreams are nice for a vacation.
So much for a fun, fantastic Friday thus far...not giving up entirely, as I am still waiting on them, but for now, my foot is asleep, my back is sore, I'm COLD, and my brain is all buzzy from late-night coffee.
blerg.
