neat quiz from [livejournal.com profile] mychopsticks, who has been posting some of the most interesting insights - he always does, but this week he has been particularly inspiring.

Without further ado...

How does a flower scratch its back?

It asks the humble-mumbling bumblebee to stick out his reverse-stripey tongue and lick away the itch of yesterday's nectar.

If 2 x 2 = 4, then why does 4 look so alone?

It's all Korn's fault.

If a drawer is shut, does one slightly open somewhere else?

Seriously, I keep having half-aural hallucinations of the sound of a drawer closing in an old hotel in 1920-something, and the echoes of that action repeating itself over and over through time. Kind of neato, actually.~8)

If railroads get old, do they somehow veer towards the water?

Count the tears that form from memories, and then decide on what size lifejacket you'll be needing.

[livejournal.com profile] mykeamend also posted some beautiful drawings/ paintings he did. Outstanding, my friend. Just lovely! And actually, if I didn't already know who it was of (I looked at the comments), I might have thought the character's face was that of [livejournal.com profile] spinmistress.

Tomorrow I begin to sell my soul for tuition. I never did get to explain this all to the world, did I? Well, see Rome is quite the concept, but it is just that for now - a CONCEPT. I got into the program - faboo!!! Now I must come up with about $6000 to go. yes, it is an educational program, and i get meals and a hotel right in Rome. I get days spent singing and acting and just being immersed in music and theater! I am ENTHRALLED with the idea! Who wouldn't be?

So tomorrow I go to my choir teacher's house to help her with shtuff - filing, whatever she wants, and she's going to give me $250 for it. Not a bad day's work, if you ask me!

blerg...I wanna write more, but the glow of the box is killing my head. I'll explain more later. Now, sleep.

8 A.M. is just not humane on Saturdays.
*sigh*

I will sell my soul before I am through with this Rome beezwax.

I STILL say you should do a paypal fundraising drive.
Hell, I'd be happy to throw in $20, and I bet a lot of your friends would too.

I'd even hype it among MY friends....a way to really support the arts.

And here are some other ideas.
One is kindof taxing, I remember doing years ago just to make ends meet. Go to that Aventis Bio-Services on w.25th, and donate plasma. I think you get like $25 per donation, and you can do it twice a week. It takes like 2 hours each time.
Other thoughts, you are pretty well known around the karaoke scene. We might be able to get a few places to do a bit of a benefit for you. Have a "Dawn to Rome" night or something.
Even do something like get 50 cent buttons that say "Dawn to Rome" or something crazy, and sell them for like $10.
Here's another thought, I know GFS on brookpark has fundraising info for selling chocolates and stuff (like they do for schoolkids). You can get all the info you need there, and maybe have some kids hit up thier friends and family for some M & M's or something.
Hell, you could even do a "Dawn to Rome" benefit dinner at Jawndomay. I know you have friends who can cook professionally, and wouldn't mind donating time and stuff. Have it like $20 per plate, plus a famous Jawndomay party afterwards. You could even have a little bar built with a "Buy Dawn a shot" thing for like $4.
Come on, good food, good music, good party, and a very drunken [livejournal.com profile] thedarksiren!!!
I think I know about 20 friends who would jump at that one. And 20 friends X $20 per plate is $500 right there, plus maybe another $50 for getting you drunk. Sounds like a successful night to me.

I am not able to donate plasma because of the tattoo on my neck.
seriously.

I used to do that a lot, actually. Somehow someone got it in their heads that a tattoo on the head/ neck is indicative of bad plasma or something though. What makes it even more silly is that it's not an FDA guideline - I looked into it. So long as the bod mod hasn't occurred within a year's time from the date of donating,a person should be able to donate.

I could be a big shithead and sue them for discrimination, but what'd be the point? Take away valuable plasma when people need it elsewhere? Nah...I need money, but not at the cost of others more in need.

I will have to look into the chocolate place. Never even fathomed...

I really like the dinner idea. Not sure how to pull it off, but will consider it!!! Not to mention I have been itching for a good party!!!

Thanks bunches sweetie!!!
