Feb. 8th, 2003 01:19 pmThe beauty about having moved around so much and traveled about for years is that I have assumed a great sense of direction as a result.
It took me nine hours (give or take) to get here with my dad's *cheap* directions. If I hadn't known RT. 422 in PA, I woulda never made it.
The Courtyard place that I stayed in was right in the heart of Dupont Circle. The Concierge, or whatever, had a British accent, and looked appalled as I walked into the lobby, Elmo-coat and The Box in hand. When he spoke, I decided to play along, and spoke with an accent as well...he looked at me for a moment like I was mad (little did he know...heh). I raised an eyebrow, and he carried on, while I remained accented and adorable.~*)
Dennis has yet to answer his phone today. Not good, considering I was planning on staying with him tonight in Leesburg. *sigh* Oh well, each stride as it comes.
Oh yeah...lookee here! I am on a 'puter in D.C. Sad? Pathetic? No, desparate for somewhere to be pre-audition besides sitting in the truck, wasting gas. Hey, and the parking at the Chevy Chase Library is FREE!!!
HA! I so rule.
Thanks to everyone for the well-wishing AKA good ju-ju vibes. I am feeling a bit better today, although my stomach is still a bit upset. Everything else seems to be going pretty well so far though...I am about two and a half miles from the school, and my audition is in a little over an hour. I have reached a state of strange calm and rising exhilaration as I sit here typing this. I keep thinking of the Tchaikowsky piece, and what Kira said it was about. I need to portray that role...a slave girl who has fallen madly in love with her master, but cannot have him. She sings of her loss, of her longing, and how none but the lonely heart can know her anguish.
Myup. I know this feeling. Not as closely as say, a few years back, but I can remember.
BLAAAAAAHAHHAHHAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tension breaker...had to be done.
Did I mention that Connecticut Ave. is easily the longest road I have ever been on? Well, maybe Pearl Rd. is longer (in Ohio), but still...damn!!!
Oh well..maybe I'll be back after three. I need to find a place to settle for a bit after the audition. I am going to call
dybbuk67 when I am done too...wow, two Lj peeps IRL in one week. How exciting!
aiight. I gotsta go!!!
Wuddah-Wuddah-Hooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
