Waking up late with the Toys-R-Us theme in your head starts the day with such a twisted perspective, I cannot even begin to explain.
Driving to school, turn the corner of the on-ramp to I-71 southbound...one homeless man, gray jacket, face bristled with matching gray hair. Too thin, windy from oncoming traffic. I imagine the underpass will be warmer for him, and kinda wish I had the time and money to buy him a coffee and pastry, to sit and listen to his life stories because they will remind me of humility.
Start the straight-away, avoid the left so as not to...wait, another man. He is tall and thin, dread-locked and layered. He looked up and met my eyes long enough to tell me, "The whole world is blue, but what color are
you?"
I almost missed my turn.
After choir today I made my final fall payment for school. YAY!
Nevermind the fact that unless I get a payroll advance (which is exactly what I have to do~8/) my account will be overdrawn.
sigh*Money is e-veel. E-veel e-veel e-veel!!!
Need further proof? Aiight.
I am walking down the hall toward the theater department and I see a penny on the floor. I almost reached down to pick it up, but chose not to, lest I have BAD luck - it was tails-up.
Oh well, no small fortunes started today I thought to myself.
Then, as I walk just outside the school's main entrance, I all but step on a quarter, heads-up. Score!
This must mean I am to have a LARGE fortune instead. HA! I WIN!!!I flip it in the air, catch it in my palm where it lands heads-up again ~8D
I am lucky, yessiree!
I cross the guest lot, then hit blacktop. My car is just beyond a grassy knoll, and I had almost gotten to it - literally about three feet from Fairuza - when I hear someone ask, "Excuse me?"
I turn to find a tired, disheartened soldier, just returned from battle. He wants to go home, much as many soldiers do after war, but is restricted by his finances.
"Do you have a quarter I could have please? I only have one."
I say,"Yes, as a matter of fact I do," and walk over to fill his open, empty palm. "I found it on the ground, just outside the front doors - I think it was meant for you though."
He kinda cocked his head, grinned a bizarre side-winder, and thanked me goodbye.
I have no idea why that is further proof that money is e-veel, but believe me, it is. Most everything that I want is somewhat, if not totally, tainted in some way.

Now I sit, waiting, half-wondering, half-knowing what's next. I know we have dinner guests tonight; Brain and Fran are coming over after 7 for supper in Jawndomay. These two have done so much for the Inhabitants, we figured we owed them at least a decent meal.

Did I mention this weekend was a series of regroup and recover? No, not from alcohol or drugs, although the former certainly helped to numb the pain for a spell.
During that spell, looking hazily through the pin-balled mirrors and five-ball waltzes, I wrote
