Things

I did not go to the meetings. All for the better, really. No need to explain otherwise.

My day consisted mostly of head-banging, flying yogurt and lunchboxes. All in a day's work.

There are certain things that disturbed me tremendously throughout the course of the day, however, two in particular:

1. While walking through the infant-toddler aisle at Target I noticed out of the corner of my eye that they have little girl's panties that are in the style of THONGS!!!

2. On my drive home from [livejournal.com profile] bindrune's just now, there was breaking news...Cleveland police just found the body of a white female in the trunk of a car parked in the lot at Super K-Mart on Brookpark Rd.

And people wonder why I don't like megamarts...*piss-shivers*

You know, I understand that people like to be informed, and hell, I even feel a li'l bit (just a smidgen!) guilty and ill-eqipped when it comes to current events and politics and such. But you know what? I kinda like my bliss, my simplicity. It's that *innocence* that the Roman said was a deeper quality in me...my lack of taint, as he put it.

truth is, I dislike society enough without all the popularity games and consumerism bologna. [livejournal.com profile] ras_sinister said something that boiled down to vicious cycles tonight, and I'd have to agree with him. Though, I don't think I could eat my young, no matter how much I worry about raising them in this lifetime.

Not that I am completely oblivious, mind you. I am not. I have my knowledge, my experiences and my beliefs, and all of them hold strong despite my open mind. I guess I would just rather live my life as fully as possible without getting caught up in what equates to other people's drama. yeah, it has something to do with me, but it is not what is important to me unless it affects my loved ones and brings them pain.

Maybe I will become Quaker and live outside of modern society. Then again, one of the most horrendous killers ever was like that...my mom knows his name. I think I blocked it out intentionally.

On the brighter side, I got to see some truly chocolate peeps tonight, and talks of Vagina Monologues, Cats, car washes and Latin made my head swirl with amusement.

Then there was the DVD player that [livejournal.com profile] angelhipster brought over to the Asylum so that [livejournal.com profile] bindrune might lose herself in Lord of the Rings. I kinda got lost again too. ~8D What a great movie.

I want landscapes like that outside of my dreams, dammit!
LOL

I have no real complaints. Today was productive and will bear sumptuous fruits in the morrow, I'm sure.

Until then, sweetest of sweet dreams to you all.
I shall meet you in the Waltzing Time.

GAH!

MY....FOOT...IS...A...SLEEP!!!!
Grrr!!!

My hor(ror)scope for today reads:

Your Daily Horoscope for August 14, 2002

Dear Dawn,
You may be feeling rather introspective today, Dawn, and decidedly out of step with everyone else's frenzied pace. You are a thoughtful person with deep spiritual beliefs. It's understandable that you may sometimes feel disheartened by all of the consumerism and conspicuous consumption that surrounds our modern society. Try not to fall into the trap of letting this get you down. Try to focus instead on your reasons for being happy.

This explains my attitude in the previous post. heh.
I'm actually in a great mood. Just groggy from the heat, mostly. Hopefully the AC will be on at work today when I go in. Yesterday, the RN burned some popcorn in the microwave, causing the house to fill with smoke and stink like ass all day. They wound up turning off the AC and opening all the windows...it was only, oh...87 degrees when I got there!!!

I like my job. LOTS. I like it better though when it has AC!
tee!hee!

And now, for a survey )
